BIDA (British Industrial Design Association) withdraws from £4.9m Impacting Business by Design initiative (IBbD), reaffirming the need for fair and effective support for design driven innovation.
Now in its 17th year the Plastics Industry Awards have firmly established themselves as the forum for recognising and rewarding excellence in an increasingly competitive market. Launched in 2001, and held annually in London this event is dedicated to rewarding innovation and exceptional performance. In August 2016, BIDA members will elect our National Board in open elections. Members have the opportunity to stand and/or propose other members. Nominations must be received by July 29th.
Board positions are voluntary and a great opportunity to help to influence the future of Industrial Design education, practice and representation. In the not-so-distant future, the Design & Technology Association believes entries to further education for Design, Engineering, Architecture and related subjects will diminish greatly. Together with Seymourpowell, they hope to show Government that creative industries utterly depend upon a vibrant D&T curriculum within schools.
